This month’s Member Highlight is Danny Redding, President of Recovery Columbus in Columbus, Georgia. Danny is the son of the late Donna Redding, who was an avid ARA member and worked in the automotive industry her entire life. Danny has proudly stepped in to run Recovery Columbus, the company that his mother built from the ground up back in 2003.Danny even took a break from his college studies to do what he could to make sure business was taken care of in the most professional way possible. He intends to carry on his mother’s legacy, as well as the company that she built with many years of hard work and dedication.
Danny was one of the well-deserved winners of the NARS 2014 Scholarship Award. We are very proud to have him in the ARA community and look forward to seeing his future endeavors within the recovery industry.

This month’s Member Highlight is Chad Latvaaho, President and CEO of Repossessors Inc. in Maple Grove, Minnesota. In February, Chad participated in the 15th Annual Black Woods Blizzard Tour, a 3-day snowmobile ride and fundraiser to support the ALS Association. The organization was able to raise $760,000 from this year’s event, which will serve nearly 500 people with ALS within the Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota areas. (more…)

This month’s Member Highlight is Ian Eusebio, son of Michael Eusebio from DigitalDog Auto Recovery in El Dorado Hills, California. Ian is currently a junior at his local high school in El Dorado Hills with future plans of attending a 4-year college to major in engineering or computer science. This interest came about when he decided to join a district robotics club called Circuit Breakers. After being in the club for 3 years, his passion for robotics and engineering has greatly increased. Our second Member Highlight is Debra Durham from Midwest Adjusters, Inc. in Springfield, MO. Besides initiating and creating an anti-contingency campaign within the industry urging agencies to “stop contingency and to end the violence,” Debra has made a huge impact within her local community. Her family helped with the Joplin Tornado a few years ago by assisting those whose vehicles were still running but stuck in debris.
Currently, Debra volunteers at her local humane society and fosters dogs until she can find them a forever home. Most of her donations go to no-kill animal shelters, while her husband does some volunteer work with his hot rod group.
We are honored to have such a humanitarian in our membership. Way to go, Debra!

Comments Off on How Tony Doppler, ARA Member, Happily Denied a Forwarder’s Request
After 35 years in the repossession industry, our office coordinator finally and happily denied a forwarder’s request to sign us as one of their recovery agents. Forwarders are costly and risky entities to work for because they often provide outdated and inaccurate information that costs us both undue time and money. Our office coordinator went on to explain that the denial to an outside forwarder was made possible by the monumental new merger between ARA and NFA. This merger will create many new opportunities for the recovery association and greatly reduce the members’ dependency on outside forwarders. Along with the merger between ARA and NFA, an effective co-op between ARMS and Reliance assures the new NFA is a viable alternative to inefficient and less professional outside forwarding agencies. This eminent unification saves us time and revenue, allowing us to further prosper in our field.
At our annual convention and 50th Anniversary celebration, we took the time to honor our past presidents and charter members. We are very thankful for their contributions and commitment to ARA! (more…)
The Situation
In my normal course of marketing, I was speaking with a president and CEO of a credit union and she told me about the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association Convention. I wanted to have a booth there, but the booth fee was out of my marketing budget. I called Les McCook and he explained that one of the benefits of being an ARA member is ARA will pay for half of the exhibitor fee at a tradeshow, if the member will represent ARA. (more…)
