The Situation
In my normal course of marketing, I was speaking with a president and CEO of a credit union and she told me about the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association Convention. I wanted to have a booth there, but the booth fee was out of my marketing budget. I called Les McCook and he explained that one of the benefits of being an ARA member is ARA will pay for half of the exhibitor fee at a tradeshow, if the member will represent ARA. (more…)
Our ARA Executive Director, Les McCook, was recently interviewed by Automotive Digest at a trade show. Comments Off on Passing of ARA Member, Addison Kelley
It is with great sadness that I write to you today of the passing of a very long time ARA member, Addison Kelley. His daughter, Julie has been running his company for the last few years as Addison dealt with several medical issues.
Addison was one of the first members to welcome me as a new member into the association and he was always a joy to talk to. He always had a smile and a good story for you. We miss his white Stetson that was used to gather many vote forms or as a collection plate on a special occasion.
To honor our long time ARA member, Addison Kelley, we will gather your messages and send his family a montage of tributes and memories from our members. Please write your brief note in the comments section of this post.
We feel badly about the lateness of this announcement, but we did not learn of his passing until Thursday afternoon.
Sincerely,
Les McCook
Executive Director
American Recovery Association

It was clear to us from the conversations at the North American Repossessors Summit (NARS) that this industry is being dragged to the alligator pits under the weight of the recent fuel price increases. Since mid-February, ARA has been researching various fuel surcharge formulas that could be applied to our business model. Although it may not be perfect, we have found one based on numbers that clearly demonstrate the added burden that recovery agents nationwide are currently enduring. (more…)
