ARA Key Committee Expands Solutions, Launches QA/QC Testing to Tackle Key-Related Industry Challenges

September 4, 2025

DALLAS, TX (September 4, 2025) – Over the past month, the American Recovery Association (ARA) Key Process Committee has engaged in in-depth discussions with lenders, forwarders, recovery agents, and other key stakeholders to tackle ongoing concerns related to key handling within the recovery industry. These conversations — along with data from a targeted agent survey — have spotlighted serious issues, including communication breakdowns, inconsistent pricing models, and inefficient processes tied to key-type identification.

In response, ARA has taken decisive action to address these concerns and drive innovation.

New Streamlined Key Processes in Development

ARA has already begun implementing tailored process improvements to bring greater efficiency and transparency to key-related workflows. Recognizing the need for accurate identification of key types, the association has partnered with two leading technology providers offering distinct VIN decoding solutions that can identify key vehicle types.

“ARA remains committed to fostering collaboration and delivering solutions that protect agents while improving efficiency and consistency for our clients and partners,” said Todd Case, Committee Chair. “By addressing these challenges head-on, we are confident the industry will see meaningful progress in how key-related processes are managed.”

Technology Testing Underway

To ensure these innovations meet the rigorous expectations of the recovery industry, ARA will conduct comprehensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) testing over the next week with both technology providers. These evaluations will assess reliability, accuracy, and usability across different operational scenarios.

Upon completion, ARA will share its findings with members and partners to promote transparency and encourage adoption of proven solutions across the industry.

Driving Industry-Wide Improvement

This latest initiative is part of ARA’s broader commitment to building practical, forward-thinking strategies that enhance operational integrity, protect agents, and ensure consistency across recovery workflows. By leveraging stakeholder input and technological collaboration, the ARA Key Committee continues to lead meaningful reform.
