To: All ARA members and non-members

Last week, we issued a letter letting the industry know ARA is committed to a unified industry and is assuming the responsibility of speaking for the industry. As part of industry unification, we asked all recovery agents to make ARA the one and only repossession trade association they join. As a result of the letter, we have received overwhelming support for our efforts. We’ve spent countless hours speaking with recovery agents, answering questions, defusing rumors and processing new membership applications. We’ve also been receiving feedback from people who are ready to take a stand for industry unity by not renewing their membership in competing trade associations. All of this is a clear indication that our message of industry unity and our superior service to our membership has been heard and accepted.

As the voice for the industry, ARA is focusing our efforts on important, industry-impacting issues and programs such as legislation, beneficial education and training, and industry analytics. ARA has taken a stronger position with legislative issues by providing legislative support at the state and national level. ARA has also developed a collateral recovery and remarketing accreditation program for members, members’ employees and lenders that is being held in various cities and states nationwide. In addition, ARA is accumulating the very latest in industry analytics to measure individual companies and industry performance, as part of ARA’s focus on continuously improving the industry. These are just a few examples of why industry unity is crucial.

If you support the idea of industry unification by having one trade association with one strong voice to speak for our industry, then there may never be a better opportunity to become an ARA member and join with us in our continuing efforts to unite our industry. Our present $1,500 membership initiation fee is being increased to $5,000 immediately following the third annual North American Repossessors Summit (NARS) at the Omni Hotel and Conference Center in Dallas on March 4 – 5, 2011. New members will be able to attend ARA’s Collateral Recovery and Remarketing Accreditation Program on March 4th prior to NARS.

To take advantage of this opportunity and apply for membership, or for more information about the benefits of an ARA membership, please go to www.repo.org or call 972.755.4755.

Sincerely,

Joe McOwen, ARA President, & the ARA Board of Directors
