The 8th Annual North American Repossessors Summit (NARS) ushered in a new era for the recovery and remarketing industry. From a record-breaking attendance of nearly 600 attendees, including recovery and remarketing professionals and lenders, to a wildly successful auction contributing $9,600 to the Recovery Agents Benefit Fund, NARS proved to be the “must attend” event of the year. NARS 2016 was a high-demand event for both attendees and exhibitors alike. Sponsorships and exhibitor opportunities were sold out far in advance even though additional opportunities were added for the 2016 summit.

An exciting new addition to the NARS agenda was the invite-only lender meetings which allowed attendees who registered early an opportunity to meet with the many lenders who were in attendance. This opportunity led to many new relationships between agents and lenders and several newly signed contracts. Another new addition to the agenda was the sold-out AT&T Stadium Tour, which kicked off NARS alongside the wildly popular NARS Golf Tournament. This year’s MVTRAC sponsored Golf Tournament contributed proceeds to the Council of Repossession Professionals. Other networking opportunities available at NARS 2016 were the Harding Brooks Insurance sponsored Cocktail Party and DRN sponsored Tailgate Party.

The speaker lineup was a list of heavy-hitters like Vietnam veteran and four-time Super Bowl champ, Rocky Bleier. Bleier brought the house down with his concluding presentation about perseverance and how the smallest to biggest things can help ensure you’re living out your purpose. The football legend not only talked about success and what it takes to achieve it, but also brought the fruits of his labor for all to admire – his four Super Bowl rings.

Other dynamic speakers included Rick Sapio who was eager to give advice on how to double revenue with business principles by illustrating what makes a thriving business and how to help businesses owners steer their business in a positive and profitable way.
Alex Vantarakis shared insight on how to lay out an exit strategy by exploring various options from managing from afar to selling in order to make the transition as smooth as possible. Lance Raphael, a lawyer and founder of the Consumer Advocacy Center, gave a colorful presentation on how to avoid negative entanglements with the law, including best practices revolving around breaching the peace and tips on advising lawyers on how to best protect those in the recovery and remarketing industry.

The summit also featured packed roundtable sessions led by influential speakers. Charles Matter, Navid Razi, Alex Price, Renee Low, Michael Eusebio and Justin Zane were able to talk with attendees on a more intimate level, allowing for a more engaged conversation tailored to the attendees’ specific interests.

NARS 2017 dates will be announced soon.
